Speak Good or Remain Silent

Silence is wisdom, especially if there's no good words to say. Nowadays people tend to say anything for the sake of speaking, a few of them know that silence is one of the good deeds that will be heavy on the scale, as if you remain silent you will save your self from falling into a sin. The Prophet of  Allah the Almighty (Prayer and peace of Allah the Almighty be upon him)  has taught us that believing in Allah the Almighty and the Hereafter was connected to saying good words or remaining silent. As good words always bring goodness in this life and the hereafter. Good words will allow you to see the goodness of others and hence you have no hatred instilled in your heart.

The Lowest Area on Earth

Allah, the Almighty, says: {Alif-Lam-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. (1) The Romans have been defeated. (2) In the nearer land (Syria, Iraq, Jordan, and Palestine), and they, after their defeat, will be victorious. (3) Within three to nine years. The decision of the matter, before and after (these events) is only with Allah, (before the defeat of Romans by the Persians, and after, i.e. the defeat of the Persians by the Romans). And on that Day, the believers (i.e. Muslims) will rejoice (at the victory given by Allah to the Romans against the Persians), (4) With the help of Allah, He helps whom He wills, and He is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. (5) (It is) a Promise of Allah (i.e. Allah will give victory to the Romans against the Persians), and Allah fails not in His Promise, but most of men know not.} [Ar-Rum: 1-6]    {الم ﴿١﴾ غُلِبَتِ الرُّومُ ﴿٢﴾ فِي أَدْنَى الْأَرْضِ وَ...

The Prophet Adam and Human Evolution

Praise be to Allah, the supreme Creator, Fashioner of mankind, Sustainer of the universe. All is His divine will, and his command is executed immediately. May peace and blessings be upon Muhammad, who came from the noble Adam, created and fashioned from clay, and preceded by none.   The theory of human evolution, namely that man descended from apes, is widely accepted amongst non-Muslims although there have been many non-Muslim scientists, atheists included, who argue that it is flawed. As an opinion, it was wholly rejected by all Muslims as it goes against their basic knowledge that Allah created Adam with his own hands, from clay, in the physical form of a human being, and then breathed life into it. Even so, there have been a few Muslims over the years that have endorsed the theory attempting to initiate a discussion on the topic, whilst there are non-Muslims who criticize us for being ‘simple-minded’ and ‘scientifically inconsistent’.   Due t...

The Miracles Around Us

By Idris Tawfiq We make life so very complicated, don't we? It's not just the tragedy and the violence which we see on the television news that makes our lives so disjointed and confused. Even choosing a career or selecting a course at college becomes the reason for hours of anguish. Shall I do this or shall I do that? What if I don't like my choice or I'm not good at the Course? Young people are faced with choices and decisions which seem ready to overwhelm them. Pressure from adults and even from our own friends makes us have to live up to others' expectations, when all we want is just to get on with our lives. The pressure on young Muslims is greater still. A well as having the usual pressures of life, there is the additional pressure that society places on Islam and Muslims. We didn't blow anyone up, yet people look at us as if we did. We are just ordinary young men and women trying to complete our studies or to succeed in a chosen career,...

The scientific miracle of (the spider) chapter

Allah the Almighty says: {... وَإِنَّ أَوْهَنَ الْبُيُوتِ لَبَيْتُ الْعَنكَبُوتِ ۖ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ } Translation : {…And indeed, the weakest of homes is the home of the spider, if they only knew} [Surat Al-’Ankabût: 41]. Transliteration: wainna awhana albuyooti labaytu alAAankabooti law knoo yaAAlamoona This Qura’nic verse appears at the beginning of the second part of Surat al-’Ankabût (The Spider). It is a Makkan surah and has a total number of 69 ayahs following the Basmalah. This surah was named as such because it compares disbelievers and polytheists, who seek protection and support in things or people rather than in Allah the Almighty , to the spider that seeks refuge in its house, the flimsiest of houses. This is the only verse in which the spider is mentioned in the whole of the noble Qur’an. The main theme of this surah is believing in Allah the Almighty . It tackles the ordeals inflicted upon believers because of their faith and what they might ...
